No. Existing community experience helps, but we also welcome builders who are ready to start gathering people locally.
Codex Ambassadors
Codex Ambassadors are community organizers, open-source maintainers, student leaders, and power users who help builders learn practical Codex workflows through local events, reusable resources, and direct feedback with OpenAI.
Ambassadors run hands-on meetups, workshops, and community sessions around the world.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to host events already?
Can more than one person apply from a city?
Yes. We look for people who can grow and support their local builder community, including in cities with existing activity.
What happens after I apply?
When applications reopen, we will review submissions for community experience, Codex interest, and the kind of local builder activity each applicant wants to support.
Is this a paid program?
Ambassadors receive program support, credits, swag, and an honorarium for their time and contributions.
This is a two-way program, and we will evolve our support based on what the cohort learns on the ground.
Bring your community with you
If you like bringing people together to build, learn, and share, and you're excited to help shape what a great ambassador program can be, check back later for the next cohort. Expressions of interest are not active applications while the program is paused.
